CRANBOURN® is an innovative, London-based, British fragrance house with authenticity at its heart, founded by husband-and-wife Simon and Abigail Joy.
Scents and fragrances are essential to our founders. They affect our environments and atmospheres and significantly impact our wellbeing. Simon and Abigail were disappointed with the range and quality of available fragrance products for some time. They also realised that none aligned with their sustainable values, love of nature, or sense of individuality and that others might feel the same way.
A better way becomes Another Way
Growing up in different global locations formed many olfactory memories for Simon, from lemongrass growing in the garden in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, to the aroma of lavender in France. These diverse experiences, and their deep lifelong enjoyment of nature and scent, inspired them both to learn more about the history and cultural significance of fragrance.
After decades of experience in the Italian design and luxury goods industry, Simon realised that there had to be a better way to combine a love for design and the finer things with a modern, sustainable lifestyle, whilst maintaining his obsession for quality.
Our founders passionately believe in the power of fragrance, which benefits individual wellbeing and shapes the quality of our daily lives. Simon and Abigail wanted to craft higher-quality products through tradition, innovation, and sustainability by working with leading international Perfumers. They also wanted their business to be ethical and a force for good.
Inspiration by blending tradition with innovation
From our company’s humble beginnings and inception in 2018, Simon and Abigail decided to operate their business differently from traditional luxury goods companies – many of whom pay lip service to social and environmental considerations through greenwashing. This is why they joined forces with organisations such as B Corp: they view our social and ecological impact as equally crucial as profit, and they refer to their approach and philosophy as #AnotherWay.
Their aim, then as now, was to combine the very best ingredients and manufacturing processes, combining both traditional and the very latest production techniques to ensure the highest-quality products in a sustainable, ethical way.

Our founders share their product philosophy and development approach with our Master Perfumers: leading international perfumers who have worked with some of the most famous global luxury brands. Their wealth of knowledge enables them to create fragrance Collections that can subtly evoke moods, emotions, and Atmospheres™ to revitalise, inspire and entertain.
CRANBOURN® uses the finest ingredients, combining tradition, innovation, and authenticity to deliver superior scent experiences while always remaining mindful of social and environmental considerations.
The CRANBOURN® colour palette
The breathtaking sights and atmospheres™ our founders experienced on their travels influenced the signature CRANBOURN® colourways: sandstone, turquoise, chalk-white and bronze. These contrasting naturally occurring colours reflect the company’s passion for the natural environment whilst also encapsulating aspects of the fragrance wheel, from rich oriental spices to cool, fresh aquatic tones. Glistening turquoise oceans and bronze dusky sunsets were significant sources of inspiration.
