Local olfactory traditions have evolved in response to the availability of native botanicals and their aromatic compounds. These materials may be used in their raw form, or refined and combined with other essential oils to construct more complex, layered compositions — each reflecting a distinct relationship between material, place, and sensory perception.

Doftfamiljerna

Den orientaliska doftfamiljen
Orientaliska dofter är rika och mångbottnade och blandar ofta kryddiga toner med subtil sötma. Denna familj är indelad i tre underkategorier: Soft Oriental (blommig), Spicy Oriental och Woody Oriental (muskrik).
Typiska noter är muskotnöt, vanilj, kanel, patchouli, bärnsten, mysk och sandelträ, var och en utvald för hur den utvecklas och dröjer sig kvar i rummet.
Familjen Woody Fragrance
Träiga dofter är strukturerade och uthålliga, med varma, hartsartade eller balsamiska noter. Denna familj är indelad i underkategorierna Dry Woody, Mossy Woody och Aromatic Woody.
Typiska noter är cederträ, sandelträ, vetiver, patchouli, ekmossa och guajakträ, som valts ut för sin förmåga att forma atmosfären och dröja sig kvar på ett subtilt sätt i ett utrymme.
Familjen Fresh Doft
Fräscha dofter är rena, ljusa och uppfriskande och har ofta akvatiska, gröna eller citrusaktiga nyanser. Underkategorier inkluderar Citrus, Green och Aquatic Fresh.
Typiska noter inkluderar bergamott, citron, grapefrukt, gröna blad, mynta och marina ackord, utformade för att förbättra klarhet, energi och rumslig friskhet.
Familjen med blommig doft
Blommiga dofter är mjuka, eleganta och uttrycksfulla. Denna familj är indelad i underkategorierna Soft Floral, Traditional Fresh Floral, Tropical Floral och Floral Oriental.
Typiska noter är ros, jasmin, apelsinblomma, ylang-ylang, viol och cyklamen, komponerade för att utvecklas naturligt och harmoniskt i inredningen.
