CRANBOURN® is a London-based British fragrance house, founded by husband-and-wife Simon and Abigail Joy. Conceived with authenticity at its core, the brand approaches fragrance as a considered design discipline — shaping atmosphere through scent, material, and form.
For our founders, fragrance is integral to how environments are experienced. Scent has the capacity to define atmosphere, influence perception, and contribute meaningfully to everyday life. Yet for some time, Simon and Abigail found the existing fragrance landscape limited — lacking both quality and intention. Exposure to varied environments shaped Simon’s early understanding of scent — from the presence of lemongrass in a garden in Abidjan to the distinct aroma of lavender in France. These experiences, combined with a lifelong attentiveness to nature, led both founders to explore fragrance not only as pleasure, but as a cultural and material language with depth and meaning.
After decades working within the Italian design and luxury goods industry, Simon recognised an opportunity to reframe fragrance through the lens of design — combining material quality, restraint, and permanence with a contemporary, responsible approach to living.
United by a belief in fragrance as a force that shapes daily experience, Simon and Abigail set out to create compositions of greater integrity. By working with leading international perfumers, they sought to bring together tradition, innovation, and sustainability — building a business grounded in ethical practice and committed to making a positive contribution.

From its inception in 2018, CRANBOURN® was established with a deliberate intention to operate differently from conventional luxury goods companies — particularly those that address social and environmental responsibility superficially. This commitment led Simon and Abigail to align with organisations such as B Corp, recognising social and ecological impact as integral to long-term value, alongside commercial success. This philosophy underpins their approach, referred to as #AnotherWay.
Then, as now, the aim has been to combine the finest ingredients with rigorous manufacturing standards — integrating traditional methods with contemporary production techniques to deliver products of the highest quality, produced sustainably and ethically.
