Fragrance Candle Care

When cared for properly, you can maximise the life of a quality fragrance candle. We want our luxury fragrances to be part of your life, daily rituals and Atmospheres™ for as long as possible. Read our candle care guide below to find out how to properly care for your CRANBOURN® products.

Before using your CRANBOURN® scented candle

  • When your candle arrives, you can recycle the external cardboard packaging. We have opted to package our luxury fragrances in FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) sustainble fibreboard, so you do not have to compromise your values to have quality products.
  • Choose a safe place in your home for your candle. Choose a level, heat-resistant surface out of the reach of children and pets. Temperature and light can affect the scent and colour of your candle, so try to keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
  • Before burning your candle for the first time, trim the wick at least 1cm/¼ inch. This will prevent it from burning unevenly.

While burning your CRANBOURN® scented candle

  • The first time you light your candle, let it burn until the entire surface is liquid wax (up to 3 hours). This will prevent your candle from tunnelling and will extend the life of your candle.
  • Each time you burn your candle, try to leave it lit for a significant time (2-3 hours) to maintain an even burn.
  • Never leave your burning candle unattended; try not to move the candle while the wax is liquid.
  • If molten wax is spilt on the skin, use plenty of water and mild soap to remove it. In case of allergic reactions, seek medical advice.

After using your CRANBOURN® scented candle

  • When extinguishing your candle, use a snuffer to prevent wax splatter.
  • The length of the candle wick affects the burn speed. Keep the wick trimmed to control the flame and ensure it does not burn too quickly. If the wick ‘mushrooms’ (forms a thicker clump at the top), snip this section off.
  • If you notice black soot forming inside the candle container, wipe with a clean damp cloth and trim the wick.
  • You can use hot water and a clean cloth to remove wax residue.
  • Once you have used your CRANBOURN® candle, the vessel can be refilled, repurposed as a container, or recycled.
  • Avoid disposing or releasing contents into the environment, which can harm aquatic life. Always responsibly dispose of the contents and container at a specialist waste and recycling collection point.

If you have any questions or concerns about using your CRANBOURN® products, you can reach out to us here, and we will endeavour to help you in any way we can.
